
Art Projects
All projects encourage creativity and self-expression. Traditional art techniques as well as more adventurous art methods are offered to give students an open-minded approach to art. Projects can be geared to fit different age and ability levels. Art history and art vocabulary are introduced throughout the lessons.
- Painting ~ acrylic, watercolor, ink, crayon encaustic
- Drawing ~ oil pastel, charcoal, graphite, chalk pastel, art marker, colored pencil
- Bookmaking ~ creating scrolls, simple bound soft and hard cover books, accordion books, and miniature books
- Papermaking ~ making paper from plant fibers and recycled materials
- Sculpture ~ polymer clays, assemblage with wood,odds and ends,and found objects, plaster and wire
- Printmaking ~ blockprinting with printfoam,everyday object prints,nature prints, and screen-printing
- Puppetmaking ~ creating finger, hand, and rod puppets
- Maskmaking ~ creating masks from paper mache, cardboard, and paper
- Collage ~ creating collages with a variety of textured and patterned papers
